Our Mission
At Parachutes for Pets, we believe the connection between people and pets is powerful, healing, and essential. Through crisis safekeeping, pet food support, and preventative community-based programming, we help individuals and families remain connected to the animals who bring them comfort, stability, and resilience during life's most vulnerable moments.

What We Offer

Please note: We do not assist in new pet adoptions. We are happy to suggest strategies to plan for your new pet arrival, but as the owner, you need to be prepared for these expenses. (vaccines, spay/neuter, pet food costs, unexpected vet care, microchip, yearly check up, etc).
Parachutes for Pets offers accessible, community-based programs for low income and at-risk individuals. Our services are designed to reduce barriers, prevent surrender, and provide compassionate assistance during times of financial hardship or crisis. We meet people where they are, with dignity, respect, and practical help that keeps families together.
Pet Food Bank
The Pet Food Bank was the very first program at Parachutes for Pets, and it remains at the heart of our work. As the cost of living rises, the demand for pet food continues to grow daily. We provide essential pet food and supplies to families facing financial hardship, medical emergencies, and housing instability - helping them keep their beloved pets during life's most difficult moments. Because no one should ever have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet.​​
Safekeeping​
Through our safekeeping program, animals are cared for at one of our facilities while their families face challenges such as medical emergencies, domestic violence, or periods of housing insecurity. Pets in our care receive a safe place to stay, daily enrichment, and plenty of love until they can be reuinited with their families.
Charlie's Closet​
Our free pet supply store for individuals and families experiencing crisis. Whether someone is unhoused, fleeing domestic violence, or displaced by inclement weather. From leashes and harnesses to bedding, toys, treats, and daily care items, Charlie's Closet ensures pets remain safe, supported, and cared for, even in the most uncertain moments.
Pawsitive Pathways​
Pawsitive Pathways is an 8-week small-group program designed to support vulnerable youth experiencing isolation, stigma, or mental health challenges. Through animal-assisted engagement, emotional regulation tools, and peer connection, participants build resilience, confidence, and a stronger sense of self belonging. The program creates a safe, inclusive space where youth are empowered with skills that extend far beyond the classroom.​​
24-Hour Emergency Support​
Parachutes for Pets operates a 24-hour emergency line, supporting outreach teams, first responders, and community professionals when pets are involved in a crisis. From extreme weather and housing instability to domestic violence and medical emergencies, we coordinate immediate safekeeping, transport, and essential supplies.​​
